A catch-all feature that is activated for a certain e-mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. To state it differently, if you remove an email address and someone still sends an email to it, or to any miswritten email address under the exact same domain, you’ll receive the email in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature means that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be essential in case you are running a company, for example. Since you may start receiving unsolicited messages, you can use the catch-all option with email filters so as to receive only real messages in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
In case you host a domain on our cloud hosting platform and you’ve got a hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any email mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a few functions, but it’s amazingly simple to use, so configuring a catch-all mailbox requires just a click. All the email addresses that you have will be enumerated in this section alphabetically and you will simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button pertaining to the given email address. Our system will inform you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox activated for that domain name or if the one that you want to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or select another mailbox. Deactivating the catch-all option is just as easy and requires yet another mouse click on the same button.
